Our Story

The Sweetwater Blossom Foundation was created in the memory of Hermine “Miss Blossom” Stewart by her granddaughter, Michelle Tinglin. Miss Blossom’s love for people and passion for a progressive Jamaica, etched a life-long journey in politics and community development. In 2013, she was recognized for her contributions to the community as well as to the political arena. People’s National Party 75th Anniversary Celebration (Region 6). A pioneer in her own right, she was one of the first teachers in the Jamal Program in the 1970s. She was an avid lover of education, music, the arts and Anansi stories, hence it is only befitting that these key aspects are embedded in the mission of the organization.
